A 35-year-old man of Miami, Florida was arrested after allegedly video recording a track athlete changing in a restroom during a track meet at the University.
According to arrest records, on Feb. 3 around 7:15 p.m., a Landmark security officer approached a police officer at the game and stated that a man wearing all black was video recording people in the men’s restroom.
The security officer further explained that she was approached by a track athlete who said that someone was talking pictures and recording him undress in the bathroom stall. The athlete told the security officer that the person was in the third stall in the restroom.
Prior to the officer’s arrival, the suspect came out of the third bathroom stall and walked past the security officer, according to arrest records.
When the security officer attempted to make contact with the man, he reportedly attempted to take the sim card out of his phone and speedily walk away, according to the security officer.
The security officer followed the suspect until he was stopped by police.
After the suspect was detained, the victim completed a show-up and positively identified the man as the person taking unwanted photos of him.
The man was charged and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of video voyeurism.
