LSU dropped it’s 14th straight game Tuesday night against Auburn by a score of 98-75 in front of a paid attendance of 6,638 fans.
“Unfortunately, on the defensive end, we just weren’t keyed in, tough enough, to get enough stops and a victory tonight,” LSU head coach Johnny Jones said .
“I think this kind of played into us not moving the ball well. Not getting it side to side on the court and forcing us to take bad shots,” sophomore guard Brandon Sampson said .
Following the win, Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl still gives credit to Johnny Jones for being able to keep his team together through this tough stretch.
“You look at them play at Ole Miss. They could’ve won that game. And you look at the numbers they put up against Kentucky. And you look at them in the first half against us. They are still engaged. It’s just a grind. A tough year for them,” Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl said.
“We’ve got to just continue pressing forward. We understand the hurt that is out there. We hurt for ourselves and others and that is why we will continue to fight,” Jones said.
Next on the schedule, LSU goes on the road to play Georgia Saturday before playing their final home contest against Tennessee. LSU and Georgia tip off Saturday at 5 P.M on the SEC Network.
