A week before the baseball season started, Greg Deichmann took a fastball to the head and had to undergo surgery. Now five games into the season, Greg Deichmann is on fire.
LSU Baseball Head Coach Paul Mainieri has been pleased with Deichmann’s performance so far.
“You get hit in the face and break your face and a week later you hit a homerun in your first at bat of the season,” Mainieri said. ” And then you follow that up with a 486-foot homerun, that’s pretty much legendary stuff.”
