Ed Orgeron’s coaching staff has two new vacancies.
One day after National Signing Day, wide receivers coach Dameyune Craig has been relieved of his duties and running backs coach Jabbar Juluke has been reassigned, LSU announced.
“We appreciate the work that Dameyune and Jabbar did for LSU,” Orgeron said in a press release. “We wish them nothing but success in the future.”
Craig replaced wide receivers coach Tony Ball last spring and was brought to by former LSU coach Les Miles after he spent two seasons as Auburn’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.
During LSU’s 29-9 Citrus Bowl win against Louisville, reports surfaced linking Craig to Oregon to become the Ducks co-offensive coordinator.
In addition to his title as wide receivers coach, Craig was given the role as LSU’s recruiting coordinator, after Orgeron took over as interim coach in September.
With Craig’s departure, LSU will be adding its fourth wide receiver coach in four years.
Juluke came to LSU last season from Texas Tech after he replaced running backs Frank Wilson, when he took a job at UTSA. Juluke a New Orleans native, spent three seasons at Louisiana Tech and was the head coach at Edna Karr High School in New Orleans.
Orgeron said he plans to put together an “immediate search” to replace Craig.
