Senior linebacker Donnie Alexander and junior edge rusher Arden Key did not travel to Tennessee, according to a report by The Advocate.
Both sustained injuries in LSU’s win over Arkansas and did not attend practice all week. LSU coach Ed Orgeron said Key’s injury was not long term and that he is questionable going forward.
Freshmen Tyler Taylor and K’Lavon Chaisson will start in place of Alexander and Key.
Taylor has played in all ten games this season and started three with 26 total tackles, while Chaisson has played in nine and started two with 22 tackles and two sacks.
“They’re played before and we’ve started them before,” Orgeron said. “They’re young guys, they’re going to play hard. They’re more experienced than the first game. We feel that they’re physically capable of handling the situation.”
