The LSU Department of Bands’ annual Tigerama show will move to new venues in the LSU Union Theater and the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans, according to a press release.
Tigerama is an ensemble performance featuring The Golden Band from Tigerland, LSU Wind Ensemble, LSU Symphonic Winds, Golden Girls and Colorguard. The show was founded more than 35 years ago by Director of Bands Emeritus Frank Wickes, according to the press release.
“When Tigerama was first started, it began as a grand tour used to recruit the most talented musicians from across the state,” said Rob Dowie, Tigerama Coordinator in the press release. “It’s great to return to our roots and not only perform in the LSU Union Theater in Baton Rouge, but also the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans.”
Proceeds from this year’s Tigerama will go directly to support the LSU Tiger Marching Band and the Department of Bands in the LSU School of Music. Tickets can be purchased on the LSU Department of Bands’ website.
