This year, LSU will not have a chance to play in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl again.
However, the Tigers will most likely end up at the Citrus Bowl presented by Overton’s.
The outdoors and sporting goods store based in North Carolina, is the new Citrus Bowl’s title sponsor, according to a Tuesday press release.
“We couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to partner with Overton’s,” CEO of Florida Citrus Sports Steve Hogan said in a press release. “Our stadium and our organization have thrived since joining forces with Camping World in April 2016, and in Overton’s we’ve found a teammate that’s a perfect fit and one that is sure to make a splash in a community with a history so deeply rooted in the water.”
Each year, the bowl features one of the top Southeastern Conference and Big Ten or ACC teams not in the College Football Playoffs, and will kickoff at 1 p.m. on Jan. 1 in Orlando, Florida.
Last year, LSU faced Louisville in the then-Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl and went on to defeat Hesiman winner Lamar Jackson and the Cardinals 29-9.
