Baton Rouge Police Department announced Akeem Yarbrough was arrested for battery and attempted kidnapping in 2013, according to a BRPD news release.
Yarbrough, 26, will be booked into East Baton Rouge Prison. According to the initial report from Nov. 21, 2013, a 30-year-old female was running with her headphones on, when she was grabbed from behind in a stranglehold until she lost consciousness.
When the female regained consciousness, the suspect was on top of her, striking her in the chest, according to the report.
The victim began screaming until the suspect fled. She did not require medical treatment at the time of the incident, according to the report.
