LSU football head coach Ed Orgeron gave his team a day to rest after they faced SEC rivals Ole Miss this weekend.
The Tigers will have a bye week to prepare for the upcoming Alabama game.
“We gave them the day off yesterday, a much needed day,” said Orgeron. ”Tomorrow, we will have a heavy practice so we will be against Alabama but most of it will be fixing us.”
Orgeron said the team put in their “best game” and against the Rebels.
Runningback Derrius Guice will be rested this week to prepare to take on the Tide.
One player who will not be rested is Arden Key.
“He has got to play in shape he has got to go. He rested for eight months,” said Orgeron.
Orgeron said although there was lots of positives for the Tigers, they still have room for improvements.
“We need to tackle better to close out the game, we were disappointed in that last drive,” Orgeron said. On special teams, we obviously have to fix our kick off and our kickoff coverage.”
Coordinators Matt Canada and Dave Aranda will be preparing for Alabama.
“The coordinators are staying in all week and working on Alabama,” said Orgeron. “They have the whole week to game plan.”
The Alabama-LSU clash will take place on Nov. 4.
