The Lady Tigers were back in the PMAC on Friday to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Although the match was back and forth, LSU ultimately came out on top, winning in straight sets.
“I think our defense won the match for us,” LSU head coach Fran Flory said. “We asked them to fight. We asked them to fight like Tigers as part of our gameplan and I thought they did a great job of that.”
But the win didn’t come without a gritty performance in the second set. The Lady Tigers were down 3-8 early before storming back to tie it up at 13. They went on to close out the set on a 4-0 run, winning it 25-21.
“This team believes in itself,” Flory said. “They have a lot of confidence. They don’t really care who’s across the net. They know that our offensive system works. What a great team effort it was tonight.”
The Lady Tigers will be back in the PMAC on Sunday when they host Arkansas.
