In the first College Football Playoff rankings this year, LSU came in at No. 19. 
Following a bye week, the Tigers (6-2) rose in both major polls to No. 19/20. 
LSU follows SEC opponents Auburn, Mississippi State, Alabama and Georgia. 
LSU coach Ed Orgeron and his team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, this weekend to face top ranked Alabama.
Despite a No. 1 ranking in the polls, the Crimson Tide came in at No. 2 in the CFP rankings behind No. 1 Georgia. 
The last time LSU beat Alabama was in 2011 and are a 21-point underdog in the game.
