New Venture Theatre recently celebrated its ten year anniversary and is looking forward to starting their 11th season.
Originally Eden Park Theatre, in 1997, New Venture Theatre began as a program that was initially created by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center.
Founder and Artist Director Greg Williams, Jr. sought to bring change to local theater through art for the African American culture. Williams hoped that it would bring a positive impact to the community and help uplift the city of Baton Rouge.
New Venture theatre puts on classic productions such as The Wiz, The Color Purple, A Raisin In The Sun, Little Shop of Horrors, Dreamgirls, etc.
Today, William’s passion is to create a more diversified and professional theatrical experience that is fun and dynamic for audiences.
Look out for New Venture Theater’s exciting new productions for its 2018 season.
