Reggie’s Bar was placed on a 45-day suspension, starting July 14, and fined $8,000 at its Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control hearing on July 13.
The bar will also be on probation until Dec. 30, and if any minors are found on the premises the ATC will suspend its license for another 45 days, The Advocate reported Thursday.
Reggie’s liquor license was suspended June 27, one day after a police sting issued dozens of citations at the bar for underage drinking and several minors on the premises, among other offenses.
The suspension was temporarily blocked July 3 by State District Judge Timothy Kelley, allowing the bar to reopen for the Fourth of July until its July 11 court date.
Reggie’s was ordered to close temporarily again when 19th Judicial District Judge Michael Caldwell dissolved the temporary restraining order on July 11.
The initial sting was an undercover operation conducted by the Baton Rouge Police Department, East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, LSUPD and the Alcoholic Beverage Control. Law enforcement surveyed the area for three weeks leading up to the sting.
