Coach Ed Orgeron has decided to close practice to the media for the entirety of fall camp.
LSU is the only school in the SEC to close practice completely to the media. Other SEC schools allow brief access to the media each week.
The decision to close practices comes after access to fall camp had dwindled under former coach Les Miles.
According to the schedule released by LSU on Friday, Orgeron will meet with the media twice a week and players will also be available for interviews twice a week. The school will publish videos and photos from practice on its social media accounts and lsusports.net.
This fall, LSU will be installing more of its offense under new coordinator Matt Canada, and will continue with open quarterback competition in practice. The team will also be replacing close 20 players who started a game last season.
For the next four weeks the Tigers will practice six days a week with Sundays off. There is also three scheduled scrimmages on Aug. 12, Aug. 19 and Aug. 26.
LSU opens the season in the Advocare Texas Kickoff against BYU in Houston on Sept. 2, at 8:30 p.m.
