For the second time in two days, LSU lost one of its preeminent recruits in the signing class of 2018.
Top notch edge rusher Adam Anderson from Rome, Georgia, decommitted from the Tigers on Thursday night in a message he posted on Twitter.
“After many hours, days, and long talks with the family I have decided to decommit from Louisiana State University and reopen my recruitment,” Anderson said in his tweet. “I want to thank all the coaches from LSU for believing in me and trying to build a relationship with me as well. I believe this is the best time to do this. Please respect my decision for which God would only point to the best decision. Let God be with you!”
Anderson committed to the Tigers on April 22, along with his Rome High School teammates Ja’Quon Griffin and Jamarcus Chatman. With Chatman pulling his commitment on June 18, Griffin is the only one of the trio who remains committed to LSU.
Anderson joins Louisiana’s top running back AJ Carter from Many, Louisiana, as the second recruit to decommit from LSU this week. Carter recommitted to UCLA on Wednesday.
Anderson was the highest-ranked recruit in LSU’s recruiting class of 2018. After pulling his commitment, the Tigers watched its recruiting class weaken after losing its third prospect in three weeks.
Despite the recent departures of key recruits, LSU maintains the No. 3 ranked recruiting class in the country.
