Mr. Taco: One of the best places to go for Mexican food in Baton Rouge, Mr. Taco off Airline Highway offers great tacos, tamales and authentic Mexican drinks.
La Salvadoreña: A stone’s throw from campus off of Nicholson Drive and arguably one of the best hidden gems of authentic Latino food in the Capital City, La Salvadoreña will leave you and your wallet feeling satisfied with tasty, traditional Salvadoran foods.
Don Jose’s Grill: Walking into Don Jose’s Grill, a large replica of an ancient Mayan pyramid greets you. The restaurant feels like a sophisticated ranch with its branded leather seats, but don’t let this distract you from its lengthy menu of authentic Mexican cuisine.
Tio Javi’s: Located on Constitution Avenue, the best tortillas in Baton Rouge are at Tio Javi’s. Besides the perfected Mexican staple, Tio Javi’s also has a menu sure to please any Mexican food lover in a fun dining atmosphere.
