For the last 25 years, Roger Cutrer, along with his family and friends, have been tailgating Tiger football games in the parking lot of Lockett Hall.
Their gold LSU truck, which Cutrer said they’ve been adding to for about 15 years, comes equipped with a margarita machine, two televisions and a speaker system.
“I bought this truck 15 years ago,” Cutrer said. “We’ve slowly added everything, little by little.”
The Cutrer family set-up has the aforementioned truck, but also includes outdoor seating, nearly a dozen coolers, food and an inflatable Mike the Tiger for those who pass by who wish to take a picture.
Cutrer, who now works in the real estate industry in Baton Rouge, attended the University and intended to get a degree in general studies. Though he never graduated, he still considers himself an “alum.”
“I was here a long time and had way too much fun,” Cutrer said. “They say you’re an alum if you spend enough money.”
Cutrer said while the football is fun, what keeps him coming out is the company and camaraderie of his family and friends.
“You throw a big party seven times a year and all your friends have fun,” Cutrer said. “I’m the host, so it’s even more fun for me.”
