Junior guard Garrett Brumfield was named the SEC offensive lineman of the week.
Brumfield finished the game against BYU with 12 knockdowns and did not allow a sack.
In his first start, Brumfield helped open holes for an LSU running game that ended the night with 479 total yards of offense and 294 yards rushing.
“I was just so excited [before the game],” Brumfield said. “Foster [Moreau] kept telling me ‘Bruiser sit down, you are going to wear your legs out.’ I was just so ready to play.”
“I’m grateful for the team, and I am grateful for the opportunity I have to be apart of the team.”
Brumfield and the Tigers will return to field against the Chattanooga Mocs on Saturday in Tiger Stadium at 6:30.
