Mass communication senior Gianna Ferrante created “The Brunch Diaries” in July 2016 to log her travels, highlight new fashion trends and discuss healthy living.
While originally started as a travel blog to keep her friends and family updated when she toured Australia and Italy last summer, “The Brunch Diaries” developed into a lifestyle forum when Ferrante returned to the U.S.
The name originated after Ferrante’s senior year in high school, while she was watching “The Carrie Diaries.” Ferrante merged the show’s name with her love of brunch.
“[The Brunch Diaries”] can be girl talk, outfits, brunch attire — it’s everything,” Ferrante said.
“The Brunch Diaries” is aesthetically bright and easy to navigate. Her conversational tone throughout her articles emits a welcoming, friendly feel.
Most importantly, Ferrante’s blog is a hands-on account of various topics ranging from health products to beauty tips. Ferrante makes topics approachable with her comical, down-to-earth attitude.
Her latest blog post titled, “9 Tips for Getting Back on Track // 30 Minute HIIT Workout,” is the culmination of high-intensity interval training workouts originally from her personal trainer. Ferrante adds her own spin to the workouts, creating an efficient routine for the busy college student.
“The biggest thing is being consistent with it,” Ferrante said. “[As well as] having your own original thoughts, photographs and [an] honest review of things you’ve experienced.”
