Update: Orgeron says that Key is not cleared to play yet, and the team will find out more next week.
Junior outside linebacker Arden Key returned full contact practice on Wednesday.
Key has been dealing with a shoulder injury, and has been wearing a gold non-contact jersey since fall practice began.
Key, a preseason All-American, set the LSU single-season sack record with 12 during his sophomore year. He also led the team with 14.5 tackles for loss and 56 total tackles.
While Key did not play in the Texas Kickoff against BYU, others stepped up in his absence.
Freshman linebackers K’Lavon Chaisson and Tyler Taylor started the game and finished with three and two tackles respectively. Senior outside linebacker Corey Thompson also had three tackles and two sacks.
It is not clear whether Key will play in Saturday’s home opener against Chattanooga.
