On Saturday in front of a record setting crowd, the LSU Women’s volleyball team defeated the Houston Cougars, 25 to 19 in just three sets.
The Tigers were coming off of a road loss to Baylor but found a way to win at home.
During the match, there were a lot of ups and downs but LSU fought their way through.
Senior outside hitter Gina Tillis led the way for her team’s victory with eight kills.
“We know that when we get up, we need to be consistent and have resilience through that time in the middle, just keep fighting through the middle to keep that lead for the entire game.”, Tillis said.
Coach Fran Flory says that the Tigers were anxious stepping out on the court.
“I was proud that we just stayed the course, kept playing until we are done and we have won the match.”, Flory said.
The Tigers will have a chance to improve themselves again, Friday, September 22 against Texas A & M.
