LSU and Winn-Dixie announced a new partnership on Thursday.
“We are proud of our rich history in Louisiana and our passion for this region extends beyond the grocery business,” said Trey Edwards, the regional vice-president for Winn-Dixie Louisiana, in a press release. “Southeastern Grocers knows customers in Louisiana are proud of their LSU Tigers and their 47 team National Championships, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to officially be a part of the LSU family.”
The Jacksonville-based store and its parent company Southeastern Grocers added LSU to its list of collegiate athletic partnerships. LSU joins Alabama, Clemson, Florida and Florida State as schools to partner with Southeastern Grocers under the SEG Sports Initiative.
“We are very proud to have Winn-Dixie as an Official Partner of LSU Athletics,” said Ward Wyatt, the general manger of LSU Sports Properties. “It is a great fit for LSU Athletics to partner with Winn-Dixie because of their presence within the Baton Rouge community and across the state of Louisiana.”
The press release added that the renovations to the Winn-Dixie location on Burbank will be done by the end of September. New additions to the store will include a beer cave, grab-and-go sushi and tailgating items.
