A student was arrested for allegedly taking items from the Delta Kappa Epsilon house, according to an affidavit provided by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
LSUPD had been dispatched to the DKE house at around 7 a.m. on Aug. 30 in reference to a burglary, according to police records. DKE members notified the department around 2 p.m. that same day, saying they had located the allegedly stolen items in the back seat of a truck parked at the University House-Baton Rouge apartment complex, according to police.
Police contacted Patrick Matthew Winkeljohn, the registered owner of the vehicle, who then came to the University House where the vehicle was parked. According to a police affidavit, Winkeljohn said the vehicle was his and that he took the items in the vehicle from the DKE house earlier that morning.
He was then arrested and later booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
The University Registrar confirmed that Winkeljohn is a current student.
