Friday morning LSU safety, Jamal Adams, announced he will enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
He held a press conference at LSU’s sports administration building where he addressed the media and reflected on his career as a Tiger.
“I would like to thank [former LSU head] coach [Les] Miles for the opportunity to come to LSU and play for the Tigers,” Adams said.
Adams also thanked LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, defensive back coach Corey Raymond, his parents, high school coaches and many others who shaped his love for football.
After his press conference, Adams spoke about his favorite parts of being a Tiger. He said some of his best memories were made with his teammates on, and off the field.
“Right before we left [for the Citrus Bowl] everybody was just dancing and clowning. Just being ourselves, and you know just being loose as we prepared for Louisville,” Adams said.
Adams said his teammates who are returning next season will make an impact, and he’s not worried about younger guys stepping up in the backfield.
“It’s DBU. It’s that simple,” he said.
Adams will begin preparing for the NFL Combine in Arizona, on January 11, after spending some time with his family in Dallas.
