Born David Ryan Adams in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Ryan Adams boasts an impressive career beginning in 1991. Adams bounced from band to band after dropping out of high school at 16 until beginning a solo career in 2000. His first solo album, Heartbreaker, was an experiment in folk music that Adams had never tried before. In 2004, he founded his record company, PAX-AM, which has produced his demo recordings that his previous label was not willing to release. PAX-AM has produced albums from Jenny Lewis to Fall Out Boy. He has been nominated for several GRAMMY awards. In 2015, he released a reworking of Taylor Swift’s album 1989 to much acclaim. His newest album Prisoner is expected in mid February, and is inspired by his recent divorce from Mandy Moore, his wife of 7 years.
