Sophomore nose tackle Travonte Valentine has been dismissed for vialoting team rules, LSU coach Ed Orgeron announced.
“At this point in time, Travonte is no longer part of our football program,” Orgeron said in a press release. “We wish him the best.”
Valentine was originally a part of LSU’s 2014 signing class, but never played a game for the Tigers, because NCAA clearance issues and off the field troubles.
Former LSU coach Les Miles booted Valentine off the team for breaking team rules in the summer of 2015.
Valentine then enrolled at Arizona Western College, where he was arrested for disorderly conduct and later enrolled at another junior college.
Valentine landed back on his feet at Mississippi Gulf Coast College where he spent last spring. Miles and LSU decided to give Valentine a second chance allowing him to return to LSU’s football team this August.
Valentine played in five games this season, recording 10 tackles, but did not play in the last seven games.
