The LSU Tigers fell to Alabama on Saturday, 81-66, in the third straight loss and seventh of the season.
The Tigers lead for the majority of the game and looked like they were in control. With just over five minutes left to go in the game, the Tigers and Tide were tied up at 56. But then Alabama went on an 11-0 run, taking any hopes of a victory along with them.
“They hit a stretch there about the four-five minute mark and we were never able to recover,” LSU head coach Johnny Jones said.
Turnovers also played a huge part in the Tigers’ loss. The Tide scored 25 points off 18 LSU turnovers.
“They did a good job on the defensive end, creating some fast-break opportunities,” Jones said. “We missed a couple of shots, long shots, long rebounds, and they did a good job of getting out and making plays.”
After the loss, the Tigers sit at 1-4 in the SEC. Jones’s Tigers will face Auburn on the road on Wednesday.
