LSU’s leading receiver won’t be returning for the 2017 season.
Junior wideout Malachi Dupre announced his decision via Twitter, to enter the NFL Draft on Friday. Dupre joins Leonard Fournette, Davon Godchaux and Jamal Adams as juniors to declare for the NFL Draft.
With senior wide receiver Travin Dural graduating and Dupre’s departure D.J. Chark will be LSU’s most experienced receiver returning. Chark announced his intention to return for his senior season in a tweet on Monday.
Dupre is projected as a second to third round pick according to Walterfootball.com’s rankings.
Dupre came to LSU in 2014 as a five-star recruit according to 247sports.com rankings and was LSU’s leading receiver this season hauling 41 receptions for 593 yards and three touchdowns.
