The LSU Food Pantry saw an increase in donation this month thanks to hard work by the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
According to Associate Vice President and Dean of Students Maria Fuentes-Martin, more 50 people visit the pantry a week, regularly cleaning out the aisles. It’s become so popular that the pantry wants more volunteers to help those affected by disasters like the recent flooding in the state.
Martin also says that better outreach programs are needed to inform students of this free resource and that students should feel free to visit the pantry.
The food pantry is currently accepting all donations and will be open til January 30.
