On Saturday night the No. 19 ranked LSU women’s tennis team beat Southern University by a final score of 7-0.
Seniors Abby Owens and Skylar Holloway picked up right where they left off last season with two victories. Joana Valle Costa, the Tigers’ third senior, did not play against SU. The freshman duo of Jade Lewis and Becca Weissman were able to  remain focused from their debut match against Northwestern State, earlier on Saturday. The newcomers achieved their first doubles win of the year. Lewis also celebrated her first career sweep.
The Tigers’ next matches will be in Charlottesville, Va. at the ITA Kickoff Weekend on Jan. 28 and 29.
