LSU head coach Johnny Jones was embarrassed by his team’s 35-point loss to No. 25 Florida Wednesday night.
The Tigers (9-10, 1-7 Southeastern Conference) fell to the Gators (15-5, 6-2 SEC) 106-71 in their worst SEC loss since 2011 against Kentucky.
“I’m extremely disappointed in our performance,” Jones said. “We did not represent those colors and those letters.”
Florida was red-hot from three-point range, tying the PMAC record for three-pointers made with 19. Junior forward Devin Robinson led all scorers with 24 points, hitting 5-of-8 from behind the arc.
Junior forward Duop Reath led LSU in scoring with 15 points. Freshman guard Skylar Mays added 13 points, while freshman forward Wayde Sims provided 12 points off the bench.
“You can’t take any positives away from this game,” Jones said. “We owe our fans much better than what they’re getting right now.”
