Before LSU’s season kicks off in 10 days the Tigers landed in the top five of two preseason polls.
The Tigers are tied with Florida for the No. 4 spot in the NFCA coaching poll, which was released on Tuesday and No. 5 in the USA Softball rankings.
A total of nine Southeastern Conference teams landed on the polls, which includes Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Missouri, Kentucky and LSU.
LSU returns five starters and three starting pitchers from last season’s Women’s College World Series semifinal squad that finished the season with a 52-18 record.
The Tigers open the season on February 10 at Tiger Park against Oklahoma State.
