DJ Bassline presents Marc Sandman on July 12.
Mark Sandman was a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter known for his “slow and murky” style. Sandman worked with the jazz-rock fusion group Morphine and blues-rock group Treat Her Right, trying to capture a “baritone” feel in all of his music, sometimes calling his style “low rock.” His music drew inspiration from blues, rock and jazz.
Marc Sandman is known best for his work in the fusion trio Morphine as a singer and two-string slide bassist. Sandman died onstage in 1999 and left a lot of unfinished music. On this edition of MMT, we’ll explore some of his unfinished work as well as music with Treat Her Right and Morphine.
