Three LSU basketball players arrested for shooting paintballs at pedestrians
On June 16, LSUPD responded to a report that a person walking along Dalrymple Drive in front of the Music and Dramatic Arts Building was struck with paintballs, according to LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard.
LSUPD issued summons for three University students: Galen Ishan Alexander, 18, of Lafayette; Mayan Keer Kiir, 19, of Bradenton, Florida; and Wayde Kenneth Sims, 19, of Baton Rouge. All three are players on the LSU basketball team.
“I’m aware of the situation and we are dealing with the matter internally,” Coach Will Wade said in a statement. “I’m extremely disappointed in these players and the poor judgement they used. This is no way to represent LSU or our basketball program. They have a clear understanding of what our expectations are as a program both on and off the court.”
The three students were released after the summons were issued.

Man arrested for possession of controlled substance
After a traffic stop conducted on June 16 at Highland Road and South Stadium Drive, LSUPD arrested 45-year-old Marc Lano, Ballard said.
Lano was booked in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for possession of a schedule II drugs and not having plates on his vehicle. Lano is not affiliated with the University, Ballard said.
