BATON ROUGE- LSU students were ecstatic and confused by the white stuff falling from the sky Friday morning.
LSU sent out a message late Thursday night, informing students of the university’s closure for incoming snow, but that didn’t stop some students from showing up on campus.
Panama native, Denise Poveda said the unsual Louisiana weather was her first experience with snow.
“I’ve never seen it back home,” Poveda told Tiger TV. “I just wanted to have my first snow here at LSU.”
Poveda wasn’t the only LSU tiger excited for the below average temperature. Mike the Tiger stood outside for hours playing with his toys while on-lookers pointed and took pictuers.
Since the weather is expected to dip into a hard freeze tonight, with temperatures below 30 degrees, the school is closing yet again.
After 8 p.m. no final examinations will be given. All regular school activites will resume Saturday at 10 a.m.
