The No. 62 LSU men’s tennis capped a furious rally Friday afternoon to record 4-3 come-from-behind victory at No. 49 Mississippi State.
The Tigers (4-6, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) rallied back from a 3-0 deficit with wins from sophomores Mark Bowtell and Neal Skupski and Julien Gauthier to tie things up at 3-3.
Junior Sebastian Carlsson lost the first set to Artem Ilyushin before charging back to take the next two sets to clinch the match for LSU.
Meanwhile the LSU women’s tennis team upset No. 50 Mississippi State, 6-1, at W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium.
The victory was the Lady Tigers’ first in nearly two months, when they swept Louisiana-Lafayette and Prairie View A&M, 7-0.
LSU swept the doubles point with three 8-2 victories, which set the tone for a dominating singles performance.
