While LSU’s track and field teams competed in the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships this past weekend, several of its alumni made waves at the 2010 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
Former Tiger Jeremy Hicks won the long jump at the event Sunday, earning a national championship in his first year since graduating from LSU. Hicks was a four-time All-American in the long jump while at LSU.
Former Lady Tiger Lolo Jones took home a silver medal in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.89 seconds. Jones fell just short of her fourth-straight 60-meter hurdles title, as event winner Ginnie Powell finished with a time of 7.87 seconds.
Jones’ runner-up finish qualifies her to represent the United States at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships on March 12-14 in Doha, Qatar.
