(AP) — Jury selection is set to begin Monday in the first-degree murder trial of a Missouri man accused of fatally beating his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son in 2007 while attempting to toilet train the toddler.Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty against 32-year-old Dacarius Holliday if he is convicted as charged.Baton Rouge police say Darian Coon died May 14, 2007.Holliday initially told police that after Coon urinated on himself, he forced the boy to sit on the toilet for two hours and then put him in a bathtub.Holliday said he fell asleep and the toddler must have injured himself in a fall.An autopsy revealed the child suffered from multiple contusions to his abdomen and lacerations to his liver and kidney.
