The LSU men’s swimming team will have to wait one more day to compete in the NCAA Championship Meet.
Eighteen student-athletes and one coach have been hospitalized with a gastrointestinal illness, prompting the NCAA to postpone the meet, which is being held at Ohio State’s McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
“We are not sure what caused [the illness], but it did not come from the pool facility or host venue,” said Dr. Chris Kaeding, Ohio State’s head team physician. “We are taking extra measures of additional cleansing of the pool.”
Provided the new schedule stays the same, the meet will now run from 11 a.m. Friday through Sunday night.
