The No. 14 LSU softball team extended their winning streak to 19 with a 7-0 win against the Auburn Tigers on Saturday.
Senior pitcher Cody Trahan (8-0) picked up her eighth win of the season after pitching all seven innings, giving up three hits and two walks. Trahan struck out six batters and continues to lead the Southeastern Conference with a 0.23 ERA.
LSU exploded with a five-run sixth inning to put the game out of reach, capped off by a two-run double from sophomore catcher Morgan Russell.
LSU (24-4, 6-0) and Auburn (16-10, 2-4) will play the second game of the three-game series Saturday evening.
