LSU senior outfielder Kirsten Shortridge was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Shortridge did impress during the week. The Keller, Texas, native went 8-for-11 at the plate, good for a .727 average during LSU’s three-game sweep of South Carolina. She went 4-for-4 in the final game of the series, a 10-0 LSU win.
Shortridge earned a spot on the 2009 All-SEC team last season and the 2009 Easton All-America Second Team
