LSU sophomore left fielder Ashley Langoni powered the No. 15 LSU softball team (34-9, 12-5) to not just one, but two wins against Arkansas (24-18, 8-9) on Saturday in Tiger Park.
Langoni’s walkoff RBI-double in the 10th inning of Saturday’s second game lifted LSU to a 3-2 victory.
Earlier in the afternoon, Langoni went 2-for-3 from the plate and knocked in three RBIs, including a two-run blast over the right field wall in the bottom of the fifth inning to deliver the winning 4-2 margin.
Senior pitcher Cody Trahan (10-2) picked up the first win from the circle, as the Orange, Texas, native pitched seven innings, striking out four, walking two and giving up two runs on three hits.
Freshman pitcher Rachele Fico (14-4) picked up the second win in a relief appearance, striking out nine batters and walking just one.
The final game of the series is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start Sunday.
