LSU senior center fielder Kirsten Shortridge didn’t steal this award.
Shortridge hit and ran her way through Georgia’s defense this weekend in leading the LSU softball team to a series victory over No. 8 Georgia. Her performance earned her Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors.
“Shorty” went 7-for-11 against the Bulldogs with one RBI and four steals. With the thefts, Shortridge has 42 steals on the season.
The highlight of the weekend came in the second game of the series when Shortridge, on third base with the game tied, stole home to give LSU the lead. The Tigers won the game, 5-3.
