LSU Police received a call Friday afternoon about a suspicious unlabeled cardboard box abandoned on a bench outside Memorial Tower, according to Det. Kevin Scott, spokesman for LSUPD.He said police responded to the scene, which was determined a non-threat, with the K-9 Unit and backup from BRPD.The package contained an assortment of DVDs, Scott said.The area is secure, and campus is open — no evacuation has been effected, Scott said.Scott said officers have not received verbal threats, and the incident allowed LSUPD to practice safety procedures and use the K-9 Unit.
