The LSU Black History Month Committee will host its annual Imani Pageant in the Cotillion Ballroom of the Student Union on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
The pageant is the only University pageant to feature both male and female contestants, according to Ray James, a team leader for the committee and University political science senior.
Contestants will be judged on four themes — an introduction, casual, business and formal. First place winners will be named “Mr. and Ms. Imani” and will each be awarded a $300 scholarship, James said. First runners-up will receive a $150 scholarship.
The pageant is one of four events sponsored by the committee during Black History Month. The Imani Pageant is open to the public, and admission is free.
