Nicholls State defeated the LSU men’s basketball team for the first time ever, 62-53, at the PMAC on Tuesday night.
The Tigers (1-1) also broke an 82-game home winning streak against Louisiana schools dating back to Dec. 8, 1988.
LSU couldn’t hold onto the ball, committing 18 turnovers to the Colonels’ eight. Nicholls State also had nine more steals than LSU.
The Tigers shot 37.2 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from 3-point range.
Northwestern State outscored LSU, 41-28, in the second half.
