Man arrested for simple battery in domestic dispute with girlfriend
LSU Police Department officers arrested an 18-year-old man unaffiliated with the University on Friday for simple battery.
Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the Residential College parking lot between a man and a woman Oct. 16 where a woman had been punched in the face by her boyfriend, according to Det. Kevin Scott, LSUPD spokesman.
Officers obtained an arrest warrant for John Aguillard Jr., of 4451 Jenkins Road, St. Amant, Scott said. Aguillard was booked in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Woman arrested for DWI, open container, improper lane usage
Officers arrested a 19-year-old woman unaffiliated with the University on Oct. 20 for DWI, open container and improper lane usage.
Officers saw a silver Range Rover traveling south on Highland Road around 1:45 a.m. while driving over double yellow lines, Scott said.
Scott said the driver, Stevie Ann Gosserand, of 7702 Cooks Lane, Ventress, overcorrected and started driving on the right-hand curb, and then overcorrected again into the left lane.
Scott said officers stopped Gosserand and conducted a field sobriety test where she showed clues of intoxication. When asked if she had been drinking, Gosserand replied, “No, I am allergic to alcohol.”
Gosserand tested with a 0.20 grams percent BAC and was booked in EBR Parish Prison, Scott said.
Student in crash arrested for DWI, careless operation of vehicle
Officers arrested a University student Oct. 21 for DWI and careless operation of a vehicle.
Officers responded to a traffic crash around 1:30 a.m. between the student’s vehicle and a Campus Transit van, Scott said.
The student, Hanna Kennedy, 20, of 201 Aspen Drive, Houma, showed clues of intoxication during a field sobriety test, Scott said.
Kennedy tested with a 0.127 grams percent BAC and was booked in EBR Parish Prison, Scott said.
Man arrested for DWI, speeding at Highland and Nicholson Ext.
Officers arrested a 28-year-old man unaffiliated with the University on Saturday for DWI and speeding.
At 1 a.m., officers saw a black truck speeding at Highland Road and Nicholson Extension, Scott said. When officers stopped the vehicle, the driver showed clues of intoxication, Scott said.
Demarcus Coats, of 12533 Coursey Blvd., said he had just left the Varsity Theatre and had two and a half cups of whiskey, Scott said.
Coats refused a chemical test, Scott said, and was booked in EBR Parish Prison.
Student caught swerving arrested for DWI, improper lane usage
Officers arrested a 22-year-old University student Saturday for DWI and improper lane usage.
Around 2 a.m., officers saw a car swerving in its lane and stopped the driver, who showed several signs of intoxication during a field sobriety test, Scott said.
Richard Gillen, of 5244 Cole Drive, Memphis, Tenn., tested with a 0.201 grams percent BAC and was booked in EBR Parish Prison, Scott said.
