The Manship School Dean Search Committee met Tuesday morning to discuss applicants for the vacant dean position, but no decisions were made on filling the job.
A group of around 12 candidates was read off Tuesday to the committee members. More than 20 applications have been received for the position.
The committee will meet again to discuss the applicants sometime after the deadline.
Among the committee members are Paul M. Hebert Law Center Chancellor Jack Weiss, political science and mass communication professor Regina Lawrence, mass communication professor Jay Shelledy, mass communication professor Louis Day and many more.
The committee voted to enter executive session, a time when they discuss the applicants and the discussion is closed to the public.
Executive session was later adjourned, and the meeting was reopened to the public.
This is not a group of finalists or semifinalists, but only a group of applicants to consider, Weiss said.
The committee will continue to accept applications until Nov. 1, Weiss said.
Weiss said Nov. 1 is merely a soft deadline, and the committee will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.
