The University of Mississippi has selected the Rebel Black Bear its new mascot.
After announcing it would switch from the controversial “Colonel Reb,” Ole Miss students were posed with the choice of a Rebel Black Bear, Rebel Land Shark and a Hotty Toddy.
The mascot will now roam the sidelines at Ole Miss athletic events. The university will still maintain the nickname Rebels, though.
