LSU senior kicker Josh Jasper set an LSU record with five field goals as No.15 LSU defeated Mississippi State, 29-7, Saturday night in Tiger Stadium
Jasper hit field goals of 21, 32, 37, 44 and 51 yards on the night.
The Tigers’ defense also totaled six turnovers in all, but five came via interceptions.
Junior cornerback Patrick Peterson and sophomore cornerback Morris Claiborne each tallied two picks and senior defensive tackle Drake Nevis pulled down the first interception of his career.
The five interceptions were the most for an LSU defense since they recorded six against Mississippi State in 2007.
Junior quarterback Jordan Jefferson and junior running back Stevan Ridley each tacked one rushing touchdown to the night.
Saturday’s victory was the 11th straight for LSU against State.
Next week the Tigers welcome No. 21 West Virginia to Baton Rouge.
